Dirty Transgender Social Club
The water was flowing slow and steady. For being creek water, it was pretty clear. The algae covered rocks could be seen where they laid, four feet below the surface. That was until a young girl went running into the water, making the water murky.
They young girl heard one of her friends yell after her, “Geanie! Wait up!” Geanie turned around with the water up to her waist. Lila was slowly dragging Edward into the water. The fourth friend, Melanie, was still standing up above the bank, afraid to get into the water.
“Wait, hell!” Geanie hollered back and went towards the really deep part of the creek. Lila and Edward looked at each other and busted up laughing. Melanie just gave the three friends a strange look.
The three girls and one boy lived in a tiny town and the only things they did to pass time was play in the creek and act like rednecks or hillbillies. They liked to talk with hick accents and say things like something someone said with “hell” slapped on the end. Sometimes they would snort-laugh and say “hell,” but that is just to be picking on Geanie.
“Mel! Come on!” Geanie ran over to the banks pulling on Melanie’s leg.
“No, I don’t want to get wet,” Melanie, said as she kicked Geanie off her leg. Melanie does what her parents wish her to do. More importantly, she doesn’t do what they don’t want her to do.
“Loosen up!” Geanie splashed Melanie and swam back to the middle of the creek.
Geanie turned and saw that Lila was still pulling Edward in.
“AH!” Edward shrieked. “This water is dirty and my clothes are going to get dirty. I just got these pants.”
“Just wash the damn pant or not wear them,” Lila said as she pulled Edward into the deep part of the creek.
“Ack! I hate you…”
“Nah… Ya love me too much to hate me.”
Lila swam over to Geanie and the two of them plotted how to get Melanie into the water.
“What if I push her and you pull her?” Geanie suggested.
“Uhhh… I think she’d be expecting something like that.”
The two girls continued to scheme until they heard a scream from behind them. They twirled around only to see Edward running in circles yelling, “ SOMETHING TOUCHED ME!” Lila rolled her eyes and laughed while Geanie ran over saying, “Where did it go? I want it!”

After a while of trying to get Melanie into the water, the girls gave up. Geanie and Lila would have races to the “waterfall” and back. They both would win multiples times. As they swam past Edward, they would be sure to splash as much as possible.
The three best friends would goof off in the creek but they would still talk Melanie so she wouldn’t feel left out. They got bored playing in the water so they made the muddy climb out of the creek. Lila grabbed her duffel bag and Geanie grabbed her messenger bag and together they walked to the bathrooms meant for the nearby ball fields.
“Why didn’t I think to bring extra clothes?” Edward muttered to himself, not expecting a response.
“’Cause you’re not the brightest crayon in the box,” Melanie said with a tiny laugh in her voice.
Edward glared at Melanie. The two of them were very different yet still somehow they managed to be somewhat friends. Edward was a crazy gothic necrophilia while Melanie was an up-tight “do-gooder.”
A few moments later Lila and Geanie came out of the bathrooms in dry, different clothing. Geanie threw a towel at Edward and said, “Here. Dry yourself.” Edward looked down at the towel and towel-dried his shaggy hair.
Melanie had to be home in a few minutes so the other three walked her home and then headed over the Edward’s house. Once at Edward’s Geanie threw herself on the couch and Lila sat in the computer chair. Edward went up stair to change his clothes. Edward walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, once he was changed. He could hear Geanie laughing at something probably stupid that Lila had said. The sound of the keyboard clicking meant that Lila was typing another of her rants to save on Edward’s computer. Edward brought the drinks into the living room and together they discussed where to go next. They decided to go to the Hollow.
The Hollow was what the three friends called the nearby ghost town. It’s very small but there are many things to do. The most recent thing that they have been interested in was the Witch’s House. The only thing left of the house is the foundation, burnt wood, and appliances. The actual house had been burnt down. The smaller building had only three walls and no roof. Father up the hill was a barn with nothing in it and two holes in the ceiling.

Edward’s parents came to a stop at the highway underpass to let the kids out. The friend’s climbed out and waved politely to Edward’s parents. Once the car was out of sight, the children looked around to make sure no one had seen them. They ran up the steps into the woods and stood on the house’s foundation.
Lila dropped her bag and jumped down into the house. Since there had been a storm the night before, the dirt floor was mud and Lila was sinking.
“Eww! Damn this mud,” Lila said disgusted. “Come down here and look around with me.” Edward put his backpack next to Lila’s and jumped down, avoiding the mud and landing on a piece of wood. Geanie carried her messenger bag around to look at the refrigerator that lay partway into the woods.
“Geanie get back here!” Edward yelled. “Don’t be wandering off by yourself.”
“Why did we bring her?” Lila whispered to Edward. “She’s always running off and messing with things.”
“If she keeps doing it we won’t bring her again,” Edward replied in a whisper.
Lila nodded to show a response so that Edward would know he was heard.
“My maniple is fuzzy!” Edward said as he poked Lila and stuck his pierced tongue out.
Lila smiled and poked him back while saying, “Poke. I win ‘cause the name of the game is I Win You Lose Ha-Ha!”
For the next hour or so they ran around the area looking in the buildings and taking things they found “cool.” They even went into the woods a little ways but Geanie tried to run off and could have gotten lost so they left the woods to find something else to do or more things to take pictures of. When they made it back to the street, Edward’s parents were waiting for them in the car.
“Damn… This sucks,” Lila said as the friends sulked over to the car.
“Mom, we said we would call when we wanted to be picked up,” Edward complained as he climbed into the car with Lila and Geanie climbing in on the other side.
“You kids aren’t going to be out all day running around. There’s a storm coming and you’re not going to get caught in it,” Edward’s hick mother said. The only response she got was Edward rolling his eyes at Lila and Geanie.

First period English was the class that the three had together. They never paid attention and were always getting yelled at for talking and passing notes. Monday at school was not different. They sit together in the back corner of the room with two other students. They told the other two students about their adventure being cut short then went off into their own conversation when the nearby students decided to listen to the teacher who was going on about Romeo and Juliet.
