Today I met this boy Piggy on the beach. We found this conch shell and he told me how to blow it. When I blew it, other kids came and found us. There was this one named Jack Merridew. He’s the leader of the choir from school. He wanted to be the leader of all us boys but the boys voted me leader. I don’t think that I can be a good chief. But they voted and I’m stuck now. I allowed Jack to decide what his choir will be. He decided that they should be hunters. Jack, Simon, and I all went to explore today. I left Piggy to get everyone’s names. I hope he got them all so we can keep track all the kids. On our exploration, we found a pig and were going to kill it for food but it escaped. We decided that we are going to build a fire on the mountaintop so that if someone sees it then we can get rescued. We rolled this rock down a hill in order to make a path for us.

They killed Piggy. They really did it! I can’t believe it! Roger just rolled this rocked down and hit him! Now that’s two murders they have done! Now it’s me against all the others. I’m sure they want to do something horrible to me now. Sam and Eric now are with them. Along with all the little’uns. I can’t survive by myself. I NEED someone to help. They are savages! >_< They can’t survive that way. The will kill each other. I’m sure of it! Why didn’t my tribe work?! Why does Jack’s? I tried so hard to get mine to work right. To keep the outside world a part of my tribe but they would rather be savages with Jack. I’ll just have to get us rescued by myself.

We worked on the shelters today. Everyone worked together on the first shelter. By the third shelter, it was only Ralph, Jack, and I working. Once we finshed it, they went down to the beach. I followed for a few and then I went into the jungle to this peaceful place that only I go to. As I sat there I saw butterflies and these flowers open up. I stayed there past nightfall. It was great to see all this. You wouldn’t think that this would be in the jungle.
